· Established in 1977; Had only grades seven through nine.
· By 1980, the school included grades seven through twelve.
· Moody’s population increase over the recent years prompted the construction of a new high school building. The previous Moody High School was reformed into the Moody Jr. High School when the new building was finally completed. The Jr. High consists of seventh and eighth grade, whereas the High School is made up of ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades.
· Both schools share the same Band Room, Cafeteria, buses, and football stadium.
· In the Fall of 2004, courses designed to help students prepare for the Alabama High School Graduation Exam were implemented.
· In the Fall of 2005, Honor classes for English, Geometry, and History were added to the school curriculum to address students looking for more challenging classes, as were Duel-Enrollment courses and bio-tech forensic science.
· Moody has been 1 of 113 Honor Roll Schools in Alabama for the past two years. |
